Where Does This Podcast Go Next…
Posted on February 21st, 2012 6 commentsHey folks,
Last year has been interesting, we focused on indie games in the mobile space for the most part.
I also put up tutorials on making mobile games.
Now the question is…what’s next. Is there anything you want to see? Any feedback or suggestions?
What were your favorite posts? Do you prefer the long interviews…or the ones from the conferences?
Do you want to see more tech tutorials?
Are there any innovative companies or games you want us to cover? Let me know. Thanks 🙂

From the top of my head:
Open Source game development.
Minorities in game development, game development teams.
Game development outsourcing.
Looking forward to other suggestions! 🙂

I love long form interviews. Short-form and conference podcasts tend to be more focused on marketing a product. I’m mostly interested in developers themselves and what they’ve learned.

I really enjoy longer interviews and content that is more on the technical side of game dev. anything about the tools of the trade.

The longer in-depth interviews are the best. My least favorite are probably the student-game interviews.
I’d like to hear more about the freemium trend and how different types of games are adjusting to it. Some games have no use for virtual goods, so I don’t need to hear about freemium and virtual goods.

Hey!
I love the show! I also appreciate the fact that you are always asking for feedback and asking the audience what it is they want to hear.
I’m a big fan of the longer in-depth interviews. I know they probably take longer to make, but they are definitely worth the wait!
I’m also a big fan of interviews pertaining to mobile games and mobile studios.
Lastly, I love the game design contest idea. You had one a little while back in which I entered and it was a lot of fun. In your interview with the guy who did Horse Crazy (sorry for forgetting your name dude, but I am a member at GameDevNation ;)) you guys talked about how devs tend to be perfectionists, and I think the short deadline game contest is a good way to remedy that. I tend to be a perfectionist as well. So much so that I never release anything! Lol! So yeah, the contest definitely helped. The prize doesn’t even have to be a free Corona license. It could be a free hour of coaching or consulting from yourself, or an interview on the show, etc.
Anyways, keep up the awesome work and I’ll keep listening to the show as it’s been a tremendously helpful resource for me.
Cheers!
